Drone Post Disaster Search
Hey folks, so as most of you know us here in East TN along with Western NC, and SW Virginia had some horrible flooding in the last month. The area has been devastated on a biblical scale.
We have been assisting a neighboring affected county with patrol duties but I have been requested to respond with our drones to search an industrial park. This will be indoors in large warehouses with massive piles of debris and some outdoor debris fields.
We are taking our 3T and Avatas but everything on our drones is bone stock. We have lights for our drones but no IR and no sensor changes. I have asked some UAS experts and searched online but can't get an answer on how to modify the sensor on the Avata for close quarters (ground mode). Any other advice for searching debris and collapsed buildings would be appreciated. We have prop guards also for our drones.
Our team experience so far has been outdoors searches, overwatch for patrol/K9, structure fire overwatch for FD, and crash/crime scene reconstruction so our indoor experience is limited to training sessions and I fly fpv in my off-time.
