Remote ID Enforcement
Q: Will local law enforcement (LLE) agencies have any jurisdiction over the enforcement of the Remote ID requirement? From what I can find, it states that the FAA can enforce the Remote ID requirement but makes no mention of LLE. I would assume that LLE can only gather information and then provide it to the FAA if the LLE agency chooses to pursue it further.
I would think that local municipalities would need to have a 'no-fly' drone ordinance in place for LLE to press charges.
I fully expect several private drones to be flying during local events such as 4th of July etc., many w/o Remote ID. Tracking down the PIC would be the hard part.

I think you have answered your own question. We had our FAA LEAP agent give a presentation during our drone training.
Local law enforcement cant not enforce any FAA rules while drones in the air. However we can enforce trespassing, criminal recklessness, investigate voyeurism and in some cases disorderly conduct. If you city has ordinance when it comes to drone use, then obviously that is nice too.
If you can, locate the pilot and conduct an investigation and just remind them of rules. Your 107 pilots wont give you grief most likely however your "recreational" pilots may.
Its all about how you can articulate your reports and how they meet your state codes.
If you have any questions, id highly recommend reaching out to your LEAP agent and ask them questions or even have them come in person. Our LEAP came down after a 3 hour drive, gave a 2 hour presenation and went back home 3 hours. They are there for a reason so use them!
